A child has limited verbal skills, therefore, when encountering problems they may have difficulty in verbalising these difficulties.

Thus, the child may act out by exhibiting strong emotions, such as anger, sadness, or anxiety; and/or behavioural problems, for example, disobedience, bullying, or bed wetting. In child and adolescent therapy the child is assisted in order to prevent the occurrence of significant psychological difficulties in adulthood.

Parents are involved and guided during the process.
